How I can help:

I have 23 years experience of successfully using CBT, in the NHS and privately, with a wide range of problems including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, psychosomatic disorders etc.

I am also qualified in EMDR and can provide this therapy.

I am a thoughtful, kind and skilled therapist. I have a Diploma in Behavioural Therapy, and an MSc in Psychotherapy both from London University, and have completed a PG Diploma in Advanced Cognitive Therapy studies at Oxford University. I have published three books on CBT and various articles.

I am very committed to my work, and aim to ensure that I have a good therapeutic relationship with my patients, use CBT to a high standard based on a good formulation of the problems, and particularly ensure that progress is maintained.

I have a lot of experience in using skills such as relationship building, formulating problems, working with negative thoughts and behaviours, exposure, and other relevant skills.

I have provided a private CBT service for 20 years.

I have taught CBT widely, and I am an Associate Professor on the PG Dip/MSc in CBT at Nottingham University. I am accredited as a CBT therapist, and also a supervisor, with BABCP. com.

I am a qualified Mental Health and General nurse.

In 2016 I was highly commended for lifetime acheivement by Nottinghamshire Health Care Trust.

I can offer private supervision of colleagues in relation to a course, or for your professional development. I have been supervising doctors, nurses, psychologists and other professionals in CBT for 20 years now.

Fees:

My fees are £85 a session (approximately 55 minutes). The initial assessment/consultation appointment is for 2 hours, so this costs £170. In this initial session we will discuss the problems in detail, make sense of them and devise a treatment plan.

(If a session is under 40 minutes I will reduce the cost to £60).

Fees are payable by  cash, cheque, bank credit transfer or debit card.

I am accredited with BUPA and can provide a service for their members, and for other privately insured patients.
